Now that his contract is up, Michael Rosenbaum, “Smallville’s” Lex Luthor, will be leaving the show after the current season. There will be 2 new villains to take his place in season 8 but this is still sad news as Luthor was arguably the most interesting character on the program. Seeing Rosenbaum’s character develop was reason in itself to watch “Smallville”. From rooting for him in season 1 to despising him in season 8, it will be sad to see him go and interesting to see what develops in the next season of “Smallville”

He is one of the best actors on television and has never failed to bring a new layer to the character of Lex Luthor in every episode. While Michael won’t be a series regular and we won’t have the pleasure of working with him on a weekly basis this fall, we like to think that we haven’t seen the last of Lex Luthor. Stay tuned.”
