So director James Wong of the “Final Destination” films is directing a live action “Dragon Ball Z.” I never thought anyone would have the balls to try and pull that one off. I was a big fan of the series when I was younger. But I have a feeling a live action version is going to wind up being queer and unsettling, like that “Super Mario Bros.” film with John Leguizamo. I say that I have no interest in seeing it… but at the same time I realize that I will. Sigh.
From the looks of things the plotline takes place at the very beginning of the DBZ series when Piccolo was the bad guy of the week. The Dragon Balls, when all seven are collected, will grant whoever possesses them a wish. Piccolo wants to collect the Dragon Balls to dominate the world, Goku wants to stop him. Pretty simple.
Behold: a breakdown of the characters and their respective actors
Goku (Justin Chatwin)
Yup, that crazy kid from “War of the Worlds” that plunged head-first into an interplanetary battle is going to play Goku.
Goku is actually a Saiyan from the planet Vegeta who was sent to Earth as a child to conquer it (Saiyans are VERY powerful). When he arrives he falls, hits his head, and becomes the nicest guy in the world. He’s raised as a human and eventually becomes Earth’s sworn defender. It’s all very Superman-esque, minus the part about him being sent to conquer.
Piccolo (James Marsters)
You probably recognize Marsters from “Buffy: The Vampire Slayer”. He was also in a few episodes of “Smallville.”
Piccolo is also an alien, except he’s from the planet Namek, not Vegeta. What I’m about to say might be a spoiler for some, but if you’re a DBZ fan you know that he’s actually a good guy for 95 percent of the series.
Bulma (Emily Rossum)
Rossum is fairly well-known. She was in “Poseidon,” “The Phantom of the Opera”" (the 2004 version), “”The Day After Tomorrow” and “Mystic River.”
Bulma is an electronics genius and is the daughter of the Capsule Corporation’s owner, Dr. Briefs. The Capsule Corporation produces machines called Capsules, bite-sized storage containers that can spawn any number of useful items, whether its furniture or vehicles. She also invented the Dragon Ball radar, which, as you’ve probably guessed, is used to help locate Dragon Balls.
Chi Chi (Jamie Chung)
Chung is sort of an unknown, although she’s appeared in “CSI: NY”, “”Greek” and “”Days of Our Lives”(woohoo).
Chi Chi is Goku’s wife, and she tends to scream. A lot. That’s actually all I really remember about her. She doesn’t do much. They wind up having two children together, Gohan and Goten. You won’t be seeing them in the film.
Master Roshi (Chow Yun-Fat)
HOLY CRAP WTF. Yes, that’s right, Yun-Fat is playing Master Roshi. You remember him from” “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” “Bulletproof Monk,” “The Replacement Killers,” “Anna and the King” and “”Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.” He’s been in everything.
Master Roshi, also known as the Turtle Hermit, trained Goku from a young age to become a martial arts master. He’s also a pervert, and he’s obsessed with Bulma.
Yamcha (Joon Park)
Joon Park is also new to the movie scene. He was in “Speed Racer,”" and I don’t know of anything else he was in. At least he’s getting off to a good start.
Yamcha used to be an enemy of Goku’s but, like so many Dragon Ball characters, has a morality shift and becomes his friend. He dates Bulma for a while, but they eventually break up. They’re always arguing, you see. In the series he kind of fades into obscurity as all the other characters vastly surpass his limited strength.
Grandpa Gohan (Randall Duk Kim)
Zomg, it’s the Keymaker! Yes, he was in “The Matrix: Reloaded.”" You also might remember him from “”Memoirs of a Geisha” as the perverted doctor. You’ll also be hearing his voice in the upcoming Dreamworks film “Kung-Fu Panda.”"
Grandpa Gohan was the guy who found Goku after his crash-landing (Gah, Superman flashbacks!). Unfortunately, Grandpa Gohan was murdered. By Goku, in fact. Saiyans are born with a tail that, when exposed to a full moon, transforms them into a giant, brutal ape-like creature (kind of like a werewolf). Goku, having been exposed to a full moon, goes apeshit and accidently kills Grandpa Gohan. Later on in the series he cuts off his tail to prevent something similar from happening again.
Mai (Eriko Tamura)
Tamura is more well-known in Japan than the U.S., but she starred in the television series “Heroes” as Yaeko, the blacksmith’s daughter.
I actually don’t know a whole lot about Mai, she’s not terribly important in the series. She’s one of Pilaf’s goons, Pilaf being some weird goblin-like dude that is also trying to gather all of the Dragon Balls for world domination (I’m not sure if he’s a Namek or not, someone correct me if I’m wrong).

i assume it was a low budget movie because it wasnt bad but not impressive at all either :s it was crap actually it had nothing to do with the Real story also ..
