A series of Viking Orbiter images were taken of the planet Mars to reveal landforms resembling familiar objects. One of the better examples was the crater Galle (51.1° S, 31.3° W; 215 km across), located on the eastern margin of the large basin Argyre. Now remember that scene from “Watchmen” which zooms out from Dr. Manhattan and Silk Spectre II on Mars to reveal an enormous “smiley” crater? Well, take a look at these pics and tell me whether this coincidence or not
