45 seconds of G.I. think I’m going to pass on this…

Posted by Eugene Wong On May - 29 - 2009

MTV has released a 45-second clip of “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.” One thing I want to know right now – whose ingenious idea was it to keep the line “Nice shoes” in this movie? Sure, I’ve never really had any high expectations for the film, but wow…

“Toy Story 3″ teaser trailer now online!

Posted by Eugene Wong On May - 29 - 2009

The teaser trailer for Pixar’s “Toy Story 3″ began showing in screenings of “Up” this Friday and can now be viewed online in HD.  While the trailer doesn’t reveal any actual footage from the film, it does bring back all the major characters in a humorously collaborative fashion.  So tell us honestly, guys – which one of you isn’t going to be at the midnight screening for this?  I know I’ll be.

“Toy Story 3″ is expected to hit theaters June 18th, 2010.

The countdown timer hasn’t even ended and yet we’re already receiving further updates on this teaser site from Kojima Productions hinting at the next possible Metal Gear installment.  The site now flashes an additional P, 6, and an “O” as well as an image of who appears to be Raiden. You might also notice the Kojima Productions logo on the bottom right morphing into a face.  Click on it and you’ll be asked to enter your birthdate, taking you to another teaser site which simply has a blank screen for now, but plays a series of eerie sounds.

Now the question is, are these really Big Boss and Raiden we’re seeing here or someone else?  According to the latest interview in Famitsu Magazine with series creater Hideo Kojima, there is apparently more than meets the eye.  While the interview censors out several words, it does show Kojima stating that the way the “Big Boss” character wears his “XX” on the teaser site is different.  Could we be dealing with possible clones here?  Otherwise, I’m all out of ideas here.  What do you guys think?  Any theories?

Favreau and Rourke talk “Iron Man 2″

Posted by Eugene Wong On May - 28 - 2009

robert-downey-jr-and-jon-favreau“Iron Man 2″ director Jon Favreau recently spoke to Empire magazine regarding further details on the sequel. As his “tweets” have stated, “Iron Man 2″ is currently half-way through filming. Favreau had the following to say regarding Jim Rhodes, now played by Don Cheadle:

“Rhodesy is definitely stepping up in this film. Let me put it this way: Tony’s not the only person with technology in the film.”

In addition, Mickey Rourke, who will star as Iron Man’s enemy, Whiplash, also elaborated on his character with the following:

“I’m having the time of my life! It’s been really brutal, because my Iron Man suit weighs 23lb. It’s sort of a half-suit, with half my skin showing, with lots of Russian tattoos, because [Whiplash is just] out of a Russian-zone prison.”

“Iron Man 2″ is aiming for a May 7th, 2010 release date.

alien_movie_posterBack in April, Ridley Scott revealed that he was “toying around with the idea” of doing an “Alien” prequel or reboot.  Now, a source from Bloody Disgusting has reported on the site that an “Alien” remake is in the works with plans to “stick with the original concept of only one alien on the ship.”  Also rumored is that Michael Costigan, Ridley Scott, and Tony Scott are all on board as producers with plans for commercial/music video director Carl Erik Rinsch to helm the film.  A separate source, however, at Bloody Disgusting has also reported that Fox is working on an origin story as opposed to a remake.  So what’s really going on behind Fox’s doors?  Would you rather see a remake of the original classic or an origin story?  Or would you rather those dollar bill-waving execs at Fox simply scrap this project altogether?  Tell us what you think in the comments below.
