UPDATE: Arnold says he will be doing 2 more “Terminator” films. Read more HERE.
While we knew that director McG had plans to reinvigorate the Terminator franchise with a complete new trilogy, we knew little about where he was planning to take the storyline after “Terminator Salvation”. Fans were told that the ending of “Salvation” would divide audiences, as McG revealed that it was not your usual resolute Hollywood ending, but one that incites further reflection. T2: Judgment Day actor Robert Patrick was also rumored to return in the 5th film as a scientist whose appearance would be used to model the T-1000.
McG has finally revealed story details concerning Terminator 5, stating that it might follow John Connor traveling back to the year 2011 to “galvanize the militaries of the world for an impending Skynet invasion.” The director is quoted as follows:
“They’ve figured out time travel to the degree where they can send more than one naked entity. So you’re going to have hunter killers and transports and harvesters and everything arriving in our time and Connor fighting back with conventional military warfare, which I think is going to be fucking awesome.”
There you have it. Does this mean we could be looking at an alternate timeline, considering the events we witnessed in the third film? Or can we simply disregard T3 altogether, as what McG has been considered of doing in the first place? As Terminator 5 is aiming for a 2011 release date, there’s a likely chance of further details being revealed in the coming months ahead (do I hear Comic-Con?).

That is a terrible Idea. Sending John Conner back to fight in 2011. He is fighting in the future as he always has and should not go back in time to help his other self. H-k's cannot time travel nothing dead will go. Keep the story going until Kyle Reese is sent back in time to repeat the cycle. You did good with salvation. It explained a lot including the scar John Connor is seen having in T2. Stop screwing with the Terminator universe. If you do that you screw up the time line even more. Future John Connor can never go back in time. The t-1000 idea is cool but that's it.

The war now lies in the future or John Connors present. To eventually defeat Sky net in 2029. Sky net is defeated and launches The first T-101 to get Sarah Conner. (Terminator 1) Then it sends a t-1000 to the past (Terminator 2) The resistance sends the same t-101 to defend John as a Child. Then Unfortunately the T-X is sent back (Terminator 3) a not so great addition to the terminator legacy. If you go ahead with this time travel thing yet again it's gonna piss off a lot of fans. Now you should be focusing on finding the time Machine and sending the correct people back in time while continuing the fight against sky net in the Future/Present.

1: This idea must to place into a refuse bin.
… What happened to McG…:S
?? If he strongly suspect the film is going to take place in pre .days and all of his new bad ideas, than we are also strongly suspect that McG will get on a 10 star rate: just only 0,1 !!!!!
2: the reason is:there will many conflict in this ideas…
3: The audience and fans all over the world will be dissapointed, and angry about this, they want to see the future battles and maybe just a little scene from the past…Nobody wants to see time travel , mainly of J. Connor and also robots without living tissue until the T6 when Reese must to go back with the help of J.Connor
4:If this really idiotic idea is going to be born than the terminator title have to change for example: Time Traveler Robots, or The Star gater RObots.
5: The T4 was a good film we think, its true not a JamesC. feeling but a little refresh needed! But this T5 story plan….
6: So all things considered we must to say that if this idea will born…this will be the bigest: leught, sadness, and joke of the world…. I hope it was just a early joke of McG and nothing more…:(

What a bad idea, I hope McG is reading this comments and will put his terrible ideas for T5 to the grave yard!!! Not ime travel again, I'm tired of this!
Probably, in T6 Skynet will send back a robot to the start of mankind 60 million years ago to resolve he problem with mankind at the roots!

I agree that more time travel from the future (2029) back to 2011 is a tired idea. Terminator Fans want to see more of the future, more of the unknown, new layersof possibility. It's reminds me of all those lame Star Trek episodes where they always somehow wind up going back to 20th Century Earth. Of all the planets and all of the time periods they had to keep coming back to 'now'. Absolutley ridiculous.
We want to see new Terminator technology, more futuristic settings, good writing, timeline/paradox consisitency and believablity.
Oh yeah~ and more "F you! A-hole" lines

What Todd Said i the Proverbial Nail on the Head….
Tech, swearing, Blood and guts , and less pre 21st century time travel.
Terminator has grown beyond sending something/one back in time to kill/stop something before it starts.

I totally agree with Joel, sending John back to 2011 would be very stupid, because people want to know about what happens after "Salvation" and how the resistance was able to reprogramme a T-800 so that they could send it back and how the T-1000 was created, and of course we also want to see a LOT OF MACHINES!!! Now that technical imporvement allows it. That's one of the reasons why T-Salvation is so so great! Personally I would not want to pay 10 dollars to get anymore information about times before T3. Creating an alternate timeline would take the storyline down one step not up.

Terminator 5 without Arnold Schwarzenegger wont do. Just as the movie T4 was missing his presence so mush. I know Arnold has been old but still he is the master of Terminator series.

Bad idea McG. I liked Salvation, but sending Connor back to 2011??? Terrible. Get more in depth with Skynet’s inner workings and leave Connor in whatever time he should be in. He’s way to valuable to be doing highly dangerous missions like that anyway. Do a storyline like Star Wars where the good had to fight to gain back control. Show the beginning of the war, when Skynet had almost taken out the human race and develop a story line with adventure and suspense. Show the story line that Kyle hints about in the original Terminator. Do some flashbacks if you want to mess with the present time, but only Kyle and the T-101 (and the T-1000) should be sent anywhere in time and that should be at the end of the 6th movie!!! Please don’t kill it like the 3rd movie! It’s just getting good again!

People are thinking right. You can’t send JC back in the past. Because the old movies will bew screwd for real. Just continue a T-5 when the war will be over. a continuation of the movies (with stupid ideas) is not good, and will disappoint people around the world. I remember the scene from T-3 when Arnold (T-101) is holding the door from Crystal Peak, and John is passing, he says “thanks” to the T-101 , and the terminator replies to him “we will meet again, now go!”. This is a start. In the T-4 indeed arnold appeared (but computerazied of course) and he didn’t killed John as he said previously in T-3 (in the caravan). So Arnold could appear in T-5 to help John to survive. AGAIN. This could be a good end of the movies. and it will not be screwd off. Mr. James Cameron should retun to make the final movie. And that it. No more other movies. Because indeed we the fans we will be really upset and disappointed. Arnold can return even if he is old. A make up and some gym will make miracles ( is not necessary to appear naked in the movie AGAIN). No Sarah Connor in the movie, she died, and she should remain dead, no turning back in time, no more. we want to see the future, batle, surviving and the final victory of the Resistance. (^^)
