Stan Lee straps on the suspenders for “Iron Man 2″ cameo

Posted by Eugene Wong On June - 29 - 2009

ironmanstanlee Stan Lee straps on the suspenders for Iron Man 2 cameoDid the mentioning of suspenders already give away who Iron Man creator Stan Lee will be playing this time around?  If you haven’t guessed it by now, Lee will be playing Larry King for his cameo in “Iron Man 2″!  As you might remember from the first film, he was mistaken by Tony Stark as  Hugh Hefner, clad in the long, burgundy robe.

Lee was seen shooting his cameo earlier this week in the Larry King getup complete with suspenders, in a scene where he asks Tony Stark when he’s going to appear on his show.

“Iron Man 2″ hits theaters May 7, 2010.

It is not known whether Bones will have a panel or not, considering how much of an upset the season finale was (No, we don’t watch Bones).  24, however, is most definitely expected to make an appearance with the addition of former Battlestar Galactica actress Katee Sackhoff.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Avi Arad plans “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” movie adaptation

unchartedmovie Avi Arad plans Uncharted: Drakes Fortune movie adaptation

The Hollywood Reporter is stating that producer Avi Arad has plans to produce a big-screen adaptation of the popular Playstation 3 video game, “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune”.  Joining Avi Arad are producers Ari Arad, Charles Roven, and Alex Gartner.  Here’s the summary from THR:

The story follows a descendent of explorer Sir Francis Drake, a treasure hunter named Nate Drake who believes he has learned the whereabouts of El Dorado, the fabled South American golden city, from a cursed golden statue. The search becomes competitive when a rival hunter joins the fray, then is racheted up several notches when creatures — actually mutated descendants of Spaniards and Nazis — begin attacking those hoping to learn the treasure’s true secrets.

Are we looking at another National Treasure/Indiana Jones-type adventure here?  Screenwriter Kyle Ward has been hired to write the screenplay.  Ward’s credits include screenplays for other game adaptations in progress including “Hitman 2″ for 20th Century Fox and “Kane & Lynch” for Lionsgate, which Bruce Willis is attached to star in.  Umm…didn’t “Hitman” already suck terribly?  Seriously, sometimes 20th Century Fox reminds me of a deranged patient who’s run loose from a mental asylum.  “Hitman” tanked horribly – therefore, we’ll spend several millions more on a sequel.  It doesn’t take an idiot to figure out the lack of logic there.  Anyways, Arad had better be taking this “Uncharted” project seriously, otherwise, I have no idea why the man’s still in business.  A part of me is saying this is just another one of his profit-driven ventures.  Guess we’ll have to wait and see as this project develops.
