And the countdown timer has finally come to an end! The Kojima Productions teaser website has officially unveiled the next Metal Gear Solid project entitled “Metal Gear Solid: Rising”. Heading on over to the site, you are asked to enter your birthdate and choose a language (English/Japanese), which brings you to a special page called E3 2009 Kojima Productions. Here, you can click on a yellow icon labelled “MASK? Who are you?” – this takes you to a page displaying a mysterious mask as shown in the 2nd image below. A second icon on the E3 2009 page takes you to a ”Metal Gear Solid: Rising” poster featuring a character who appears to be Raiden. With all the hints about the use of masks in this next installment, I’d suppose this is some other character who is simply wearing a “Raiden” mask. The same probably goes with the “Big Boss” character we saw earlier on the site.
According to the latest report at E3, we also know that “Metal Gear Solid: Rising” will be released on the XBox 360. While a Playstation 3 release hasn’t been confirmed yet, I highly doubt Kojima’s going to defect from Sony like this. Otherwise, we PS3 owners are seriously rioting because this move would simply be uncalled for…
