“Wanted” director Timur Bekmambetov recently spoke with Russian news site RIA Novosti and stated that he has started preparations on making a sequel to the 2008 film. Angelina Jolie’s character, Fox, is also set to return somehow. SPOILER: You might remember Jolie’s character shooting herself in the head, but in a badass way at the end of the first one.
Bekmambetov stated the following:
“In July we will start preparation for the film. I think in the late autumn or winter shooting will be performed. The shooting will take place in America, India and Russia.”
Another character scheduled to return is the character played by Kostya Khabensky, who also starred in Bemambetov’s “Night Watch” and “Day Watch”. Screenwriter Evan Spiliotopoulos has also replaced Chris Morgan in penning the screenplay for this second installment.
“Wanted 2″ is estimated to have a $150 million budget.
