This is interesting. Amazon and popular fansite, Kryptonsite, have posted revised cover art for the upcoming blu-ray release of Season 8 of “Smallville”. We do not know whether the artwork will be exclusive to the blu-ray release and frankly, this is quite strange for Warner Home Video to deviate from the original layout which has been used for the first 7 season sets. The new cover art still looks great though, as it appears that they want to promote the season more dynamically as a Superman-based show rather than from its traditional, Smallville roots. Could this be a further hint or nod towards the rumored “Metropolis” feature film that we spoke of a few days earlier? Let’s see how this unravels in the days ahead.
UPDATE: This is an alternate cover which will be released as a store exclusive from a certain retail outlet that currently isn’t known yet. The regular cover with Tom Welling and Erica Durance will be released in all other stores.
