Before you go on pre-ordering that enticing 2-Disc Special Edition blu-ray of “Watchmen”, consider this – near the end of this year, Warner Bros will be attempting to further milk money out of fanboys by releasing a 5-Disc Ultimate Collector’s Edition blu-ray release of “Watchmen”. Surprise, surprise. While director Zack Snyder had mentioned such a release early on, we still weren’t sure Warner Bros would go through with it until now.
The Ultimate Edition will include “Tales of the Black Freighter” interwoven into the Director’s Cut of the film, additional commentary, 2+ hours of bonus features, and all of the Watchmen Motion Comics. It will also be available for a limited time until June 30th, 2010. Something tells me this will retail for quite the hefty price. Maybe the 2-Disc Director’s Cut would be sufficient enough after all. Choose wisely, fanboys.
