With Ian Holm not reprising his “Lord of the Rings” role as Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson and Guillermo del Toro’s “The Hobbit”, casting news has begun to surface with 3 names in the running. Rumored to take on the role are actors David Tennant (Dr. Who), James McAvoy (Wanted), and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter, obviously).
Peter Jackson is expected to make an appearance at Comic-Con next week, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he discussed more about this. While David Tennant and James MacAvoy seem to be fair candidates for the role, I really doubt there’s any truth to Daniel Radcliffe being in the running considering his plans for smaller roles after the Harry Potter films wrap up. Plus, while he must be one of the richest teenagers in the world, I certainly do not want to see Harry Potter entering the realm of Middle Earth.
