The Dark Knight Rises

The 3rd film in Nolan’s installment of the franchise will be officially titled “The Dark Knight Rises”. When I first heard the news I thought it odd that it would be so similarly titled without just throwing a number behind it.

In an interview Nolan gave the fans a bit of information that is sure to get the buzz going for a movie that we won’t even be able to see for a year and a half. Nolan stated that the title would, in fact, be “The Dark Knight Rises”, that it would NOT be shot in 3D, but IMAX only, and though he didn’t say who the villian would be, let us know that we shouldn’t expect to see The Riddler.

I am personally happy that this movie won’t be in 3D since I find it nothing but a distraction from crappy story telling. Not only that, 3D has come and gone once in the 50s and again in the 80s. By time “The Dark Knight Rises” enters theaters, chances are the gimmick would have already lost popularity.

Finally, it is believed that the upcoming film would be shooting in New Orleans (Killer Croc anyone?). We will confirm this once it’s official and are happy to be tracking Batman news once again.

More “Batman: Arkham City” Screenshots!

Here are even more images from the upcoming video game sequel “Batman: Arkham City”. These include concept art and a new rendering for Harley Quinn. Fans of the franchise have praised the first “Arkham Asylum” title as the best Batman game of all time…I couldn’t agree more. Instead of being a campy game to get the Batman geeks riled up, it was a solid action/adventure game that gamers outside of the DC Universe could appreciate.

Developed by Rocksteady Studios, “Batman: Arkham City” is scheduled to hit the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC in fall 2011.

Attack of the Show airs nightly at 7pm ET / PT to show you all your movie, tech, games and nerd-culture needs.
