From days of long ago (well last Thursday through Sunday), from the uncharted regions of the universe (OK so it was San Diego), comes a legend: the legend of Voltron, Defender of the Universe.
That’s right kiddies the Voltron Force was out in full effect at the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con. Games, toys, people in costume, a panel with a HUGE announcement and, of course, your’s truly right in the thick of it.
There was a scavenger hunt for prizes where you had to collect a pin that represented one of the five robot lions: red, blue, green, yellow and, of course, the black lion. Believe me I was like a kid in a candy store as I ran around and collected all the buttons. There were even people in costume!
There is also a new line of toys that will begin being released fall of this year starting with the red lion. When all five are combined they will form a 23 inch tall Defender of the Universe. The icing on the cake was the official announcement of a live action movie! Yes my fellow force fans, we are finally getting a Voltron movie!
Relativity Media and Atlas Entertainment will be bring the five robot lions to the big screen! Unfortunately, that is all the information that was given at this time, so it could be a bit before we see any film. Worry not friends as soon as more is known we will have the information for you. Who else can’t wait to hear those classic words as the team prepares to form Voltron? ”Ready to form Voltron! Activate interlocks! Dyna-therms connected. Infra-cells up! Mega-thrusters are go! Let’s go, Voltron Force!”
