Nothing really new here if you are familiar with data plans on the Apple iPad.
The PlayStation Vita will be available in 2 models: one that will have Wi-Fi and 3G capabilities and one that will only have Wi-Fi. Those that want to take their internet access with them where ever they go will most likely opt for the 3G compatible console which will not only be $50 more expensive (at $299 USD) but will also require a monthly service plan from AT&T.
The service plan will not require users to be stuck with a contract, which is nice, but the prices seem a bit heft for data. Like the Apple iPad, the plans start at $14.99 a month for 250MB of data which can be a lot depending how you use it (I have never gone over my 250MB on my iPad as there are hotspots everywhere). The other option would be $25 a month and give the users 2GB of data.
Those who sign up for an AT&T data plan will be given a free downloadable game along with access to AT&T hotspots around the country.
Which version will you buy?
