Hans Zimmer to score Zack Snyder’s Superman film “Man of Steel”

Next to John Williams and Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer is a legend in his own right when it comes to scoring films that geeks love.

Known for his work on “The Lion King”, “Gladiator”, “Inception” and even the Nolan Batman films, it was announced that Zimmer would be continuing his work for the characters of the DC Universe and will be scoring the upcoming film, “Man of Steel” which will star Henry Cavill as Superman and will be directed by Zack Snyder.

Though earlier reports said Zimmer wasn’t interested in the opportunity because following in John Williams’ footsteps would be like “rewriting Beethoven’s ninth”, Variety is claiming that this is pretty much a done deal.

“Man of Steel” is set to release in June of 2013.
