Producers of The Walking Dead want viewers to give Carl another chance

If you’re like us, Carl, the resident child and son of protagonist Rick, really got under your skin last season. Not only was he an annoyance that seemed to hold up the show but his character seemed useless to the plot. As a viewer, a character like Carl can really slow down the pace of a show and made some scenes almost tedious to watch.

The producers of the show are asking to give him a chance in season 3. In an interview with TV Guide, producer Glen Mazzara had this to say on the subject:

We’re interested in exploring Carl as a child soldier in this war against the walkers. He becomes a very, very effective, strong part of the group. He’s no longer the young child who needs to be cared for and who needs to be minded. That Carl is gone.

It seems Carl is supposed to be the John Connor against the undead.

Are you looking forward to the upcoming season of “The Walking Dead”? Are you willing to make room in your heart for the prepubescent zombie hunter?
