This week we bring to you a featured girl who we met at the 2012 Anime Expo in Downtown Los Angeles a few months back. We took some photos of her for our coverage, she sent us an email a few days later and now we’re happy to feature her as this week’s Angry Girl.

Emily’s gothic style sets her apart from our typical Angry Girls but her cosplays are right up there with the best. Her love of Harley Quinn is no surprise as she hopes to one day become a therapist herself. Rather than go on about her though, check out her interview and her gallery!

Tell us a bit about yourself:
You can call me Stefanii Cobain (alias for personal reasons). I live in the suburbs, it gets really boring out here. I’ve been cosplaying since 2005. I go to a California State University and I’m majoring in Psychology. (No, not because of Harley! ) I love to read, play video games, and style wigs for practice. I have a younger sister who I just got into cosplaying.. hehe.. She is now part of the Dark Side.

What you like to do for fun:
I like to go to concerts, amusement parks, theatres, and hanging out with my fellow nerd friends. When I’m not nerding out about Batman with my best friend, we are drinking. I’m serious, since I just turned 21 all my older friends are excited to finally take me out and drink to various bars and clubs. I love to read comics and manga, yes, but also other books about fantasy, horror, Japan, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series and Harry Potter series. Also, working on my next costume. Cosplay is always on my mind. Cosplaying at Conventions are my absolute passion.

What do you want to do for a living:
I want to be a therapist for troubled teenagers and young adults. I feel that they need the most help and seek very little of it. So I’m going to help them whether they like it or not, stubborn teenagers! This is also the age group where typically you start to see signs of certain disorders appear so it’s better to catch them when they’re young and try to treat them before it gets worse.

What type of videogames/tv/movies do you like:
I love any kind! I don’t stick to one genre, that gets boring. My favorite tv shows are: Family Guy, American Dad, South Park, Invader Zim, (old school) Pokemon, X-Men & Batman (90′s cartoons), True Blood, Louie, and I even watch the awful reality tv shows like The Real World, The Bad Girls Club, etc. because they’re so addicting! I don’t know why its like watching a train wreck. My favorite video games are: Batman Arkham Asylum/City, Assassins Creed (the first one), Gears of War, The Sims, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (<–All time fave! But I like Windwaker too), Silent Hill (Silent Hill 2 is my ultimate fave but I love all Silent Hill games, I’m obsessed), Super Smash Bros Brawl, Final Fantasy, Left 4 Dead, Mario Party 2 (You get to wear little costumes in this one!), Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Marvel vs. Capcom, Spiderman, and many more.. I’ll end it here. My favorite movies are: Memoirs of a Geisha, Spirited Away, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Batman Returns, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (American version), X-Men First Class (X-Men and X2 were good, but First Class was amazing because of Magneto), The Amazing Spiderman (I hated Tobey Maguire in the old ones and this movie was more to the actual story/comics), Thor, Shame, 50/50, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and The Beast, Lion King, Hercules, and I’ll end this list now it’s getting ridiculous. Haha.

What is your favorite comic book?
I would have to say Batman: Mad Love and Other Stories. Yes its less about Batman and more about Joker and Harley but that’s why I love it. I also love Batman: The Killing Joke. In both these comics you can see inside of Harley & Joker’s lives.

Something interesting about yourself:
Well in school when they ask me this question my answer would be that I cosplay, but I don’t think that answer would suffice here. If you can picture it I can do this: I can lie flat on my stomach and then using my arms to push my upper body up, I tilt my head back, and my legs bend upwards and towards my head, then my feet can touch my forehead, from that position. Haha. Did that make sense? I call that my Harley Bend. Makes some dudes a little zany after seeing that pose!

Why do you cosplay the characters you portray:
I cosplay the characters that I fall in love with and the characters that I can relate to or I feel are most like my personality. Harley Quinn is my absolute favorite. She fell in love with a maniac, which in reality would be a “bad boy” and she does stupid things for him because she’s in love, I’ve been there. Its hard for me to admit but I used to be very submissive, thinking that’s how you get a boy to like you. To be more favorable by doing what you think will make him happy with you. She’s just a misunderstood girl who has good intentions. Harley is a sweetheart and she’s very ecstatic and in-your-face just like me, I’m very strongly opinionated. As for Rikku, she’s my bubbly side. Can be cute but act like a dork at times. (Although, she wasn’t like that in FFX-10) I don’t care. I still love her. As for Misa, she’s me but a blonde. We both dress the same and act the same. She was my first actual cosplay that I wore to a convention. She will always hold a special place. I tend to cosplay blondes, don’t I?

Anything else we should know about you:
I am loud and expressive. If you say something I disagree with, you’ll hear from me. I also tend to go on a lot of rants which makes people laugh because I’m small and not so intimidating. This makes me sound hostile but I can also be kind and caring.

You should also know that I have a vast amount of knowledge of useless information about celebrities. I don’t know why but I do. It’s like Access Hollywood/TMZ in my brain. In particular, I know just about everything about Kurt Cobain, hence my *last* name.
