Marvel And Netflix Team Up To Produce 4 New Shows

Netflix Marvel

Just when you though Disney was taking advantage of their purchase of Marvel studios when they premiered “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D”, it turns out that they were just getting started.

It was announced today that Marvel and Netflix have entered a partnership to bring fans more content utilizing characters from the Marvel Universe which will be distributed through the subscription based Netflix streaming service.

Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage will all be getting their own series which will crossover and eventually end with an Avengers-esque special where all of the characters will join forces in a sing story.

The epic will unfold over multiple years of original programming, taking Netflix members deep into the gritty world of heroes and villains of Hell’s Kitchen, New York. Netflix has committed to a minimum of four, 13-episodes series and a culminating Marvel’s The Defenders miniseries event that reimagines a dream team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters.

The shows are set to begin airing on Netflix sometime in 2015. Are you looking forward to more Marvel content from Disney or are they being too ambitious with this announcement?
