“Star Wars: Episode VII” to Take Place 30 Years After “Return of the Jedi”

During the Disney shareholder meeting today, CEO Bob Iger announced that “Star Wars: Episode VII” will be taking place 30 years after the events of “Return of the Jedi”.

What’s nice about the time frame is that it allows the original cast to age realistically and if reports are correct, we’ll be seeing the likes of Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher in the J.J. Abrams’ film.

Though Iger wouldn’t confirm any cameos, he threw us a bone and confirmed R2-D2 would be in “Episode VII”…thanks.

“Star Wars: Episode VII” begins filming in London’s Pinewood Studios this May.

“Star Wars: Episode VII” is scheduled to release on December 18th, 2015.
