If you loved The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo books and movies, well DC comics Vertigo is adapting all three books in the series as two-volume graphic novels. The novels won’t arrive in stores until this coming November.

Loveless, jobless and possibly terminally ill, Frank has had enough of the downward spiral of America. ThisJuly we will be seeing new 12 inch statues and busts of Batman, Bane and Catwoman from the upcoming movie, “The Dark Knight Rises”. The film opens in theaters and IMAX on July 20,2012.

I know this isn’t really headlining the current event pages but when we were invited to a screening of “The Big Year”, we turned it down due to lack of time and interest. Just by looking at the cast, you expect a gut busting comedy whether your into Steve Martin’s vintage style of humor or Jack Black’s over-the-top physical comedy…you won’t really get either, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

I checked out some of the reviews of this film dating back to its original theatrical release and they weren’t all that great. Rotten Tomatoes rounded it to a 39% and that will usually deter me from seeing a film. When the Blu Ray was announced for a release date of January 31st, I decided to give it a spin and see what it was all about.

The first thing the viewer needs to remember when seeing “The Big Year”, is that just because it has an A-List cast within the comedic genre, you’re not going to be on the floor laughing. Recent news has revealed that fans of James Cameron’s “Avatar” will have to wait 4 more years before being able to check out the sequel to the 2009 hit film.

Fans were told to expect “Avatar 2″ to hit theaters in 2014 and “Avatar 3″ in 2015. According to producer Jon Landau, that’s not the case and due to the use of new technology that will take the film to the next level, the time frame has be delayed to 2016.

Maybe they are just reviewing “Pocahontas 2″ for more story ideas.

Movie goers are purchasing tickets through Fandango and IMAX showings of TDKR is sold out in many of the major cities across the United States, including Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.

Can Nolan regain his title with a record breaking opening weekend? Like last time, he won’t have 3D sales to fall back on but the inflated prices to catch the film on an IMAX screen should help a bit.
