E manages to get invited into Sloan’s place, Turtle has a sizzling night with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Drama reads a script at a massage parlor, and Vince is all alone in the house for once. Looks like everyone’s lives seem to be picking up finally, except for Vince’s, whose situation currently isn’t clearly known as of the first episode. With “Medellin” already being a complete flop, there’s no way the Martin Scorsese-directed “Gatsby” will follow. Here’s the summary:

“Amongst Friends”  - Season 6, Episode 2 – 7/19

“Eric invites Sloan to Vince’s premiere, but just “as friends.” Ari arranges a friend date between Mrs. Gold and Andrew’s wife, but his new partner’s actions threaten to foil Ari’s plans. Meanwhile, Lloyd goes on a crash diet per Ari’s demand. And Turtle makes his red-carpet debut with Jamie-Lynn Sigler on his arm.”

“Entourage” airs tonight on HBO.

Last season we left off with celebrity playboy Vincent Chase being fired off the production of “Smokejumpers” and returning to NYC with the rest of the gang – Johnny Drama, E, and Turtle.  As E attempts to negotiate with director Gus Van Sant into offering Vince a role, Vince reconnects with his high school sweetheart, Drama proposes to invest in a neighborhood bar, and Turtle maintains a relationship with former Sopranos actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler.  Agent Ari Gold finally manages to connect Vince with director Martin Scorsese, who offers him the lead role in a reimagining of “The Great Gatsby” to be set in New York.

Season 6 begins several months after last season as we see Vince promoting his new movie, “Gatsby”, on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno – oops, looks like they must’ve filmed this episode quite a ways back.  Oh well, what’s it matter when you consider the stretched level of realism already portrayed in the series.  It’s a great show and let’s hope the new season kicks off with a bang.

“Drive”  - Season 6, Episode 1 – 7/12

“Vince is back in the fast lane, preparing for his driving test and an appearance with Jay Leno to promote the premiere of his new movie “Gatsby,” directed by Martin Scorsese. Meanwhile, with a nudge from Sloan, Eric considers moving into his own house, but worries about the impact on Vince and the gang. Looking for career advancement, Lloyd confronts Ari with an ultimatum, which Ari counters with a proposition of his own.”
